Roller cleaning

Water-based paints
For water-based paints, part fill the sink with water and roll the roller back and forth to remove the paint.
Rinse under running water.
Repeat the process as many times as necessary until the water runs clear.

Oil-based paints
Oil-based paint can be cleaned out by rolling the roller in a paint tray, first filled with white spirit and then with brush cleaner. The roller can then be rinsed, washed with soapy water, then rinsed again in clean running water.
If you intend using the roller with the same paint later in the day, you can wrap it in a sealed plastic bag to prevent it drying out.
When storing rollers, hang them so that the sleeve is not touching anything and is left to air.
