The Nottingham Evening Post has reported that councillor Ken Rigby is concerned with how DIY enthusiasts are disposing of their used paint pots. Cost cutting measures in the area have meant that the local council has stopped accepting paint pots at recycling centres. Leaving just two in the region which will accept them. Richard Butler from the Environment Agency has stated that oil based paint must not be sent to landfill and this has urged Mr Rigby to ask the Nottingham Council to find some way of dealing with left over paint. |
